An early work where I was exploring detailing and form versus function. It happened that I was listening to Crowded House – Woodface during the creation process. Appropriate name I would say.
SuperNova 60″x72″
So much paint on this canvas. Lots of layers and the center looks to me like an explosion. What would a supernova look like? Or maybe lava being born.
Blue Series (2) 36″x48″
I was inspired to use a slight blue-white paint with have basic forms to create a serene painting. The brown is a deep rich color that matches stained IPE, a hardwood that is impervious to termites and used extensively in Hawaii.
Regolith 48″x60″
Elon Musk and others want to put humans on Mars. After reading how difficult that will be, I imagined what the surface of Mars would look like. Regolith is a layer of loose, heterogeneous superficial material covering solid rock. It includes dust, soil, broken rock, and other related materials and is present on Earth the Moon, Mars, some asteroids, and other planets and moons.
